Teaching Philosophy

I aim to help every student – regardless of age, experience, or ability – to receive a well-rounded music education. Every lesson will be tailored to the individual person; this includes adapting activities to their learning style and finding pieces that suit their interests. I hope through my teaching to help every student develop a lifelong love and appreciation for music.

About Private Piano Lessons
  • Private lessons are offered for students of ALL ages and experience levels.

  • I am currently accepting new students for lessons in Seattle, WA.

  • Repertoire choices will be grounded in classical music, but students will also be encouraged to explore other genres such as jazz, pop, and broadway according to their interests.

  • Lessons will provide a foundation of healthy technique that focuses on listening to your body and releasing tension.

  • In addition to technique, students will explore musicality, creativity, rhythmic exercises, ear training, music history, and music theory concepts to help them become well-rounded musicians.

"Grace is a wonderful teacher that taught me a lot. She was very flexible and supportive about playing/learning music that I wanted to play. She encouraged me to practice and memorize my pieces. She was always kind and understanding when my schedule conflicted with practice time. She challenged me to become a better piano player. She's one of the best piano teachers I've ever had!
